Reimagining the Penthouse at 777 Tower - the Future of Luxury Work-Life Integration in One of Los Angeles' Tallest Icons.
Vision Architects is proud to unveil the transformation of the penthouse at 777 Tower—a landmark of Los Angeles originally designed by world-renowned architect César Pelli. Rising 52 stories and standing as the 7th tallest building in LA, 777 Tower is entering a bold new era. At the heart of this renaissance is a design-driven reimagination of its top-floor penthouse, once curated by Gensler, now re-envisioned by Vision Architects as a luxurious, contemporary home-office sanctuary.
Recently acquired by Chinese investors for $120 million, the tower currently sits at 50% occupancy. Vision Architects was brought on board not only to design a space but to elevate asset value through design. Our goal is to drive occupancy back up to 90%, leveraging architecture and interiors as tools for reinvestment and revitalization.
Our design challenges the boundaries between residential calm and professional clarity. Located in the clouds, this penthouse embodies a seamless fusion of lifestyle and legacy.
Living Lounge: An expansive, light-filled living space is defined by warm walnut accents, Roma Travertine stone, and custom Minotti furnishings. The ceiling grid, composed of textured panels and sleek black lines, evokes calm order and diffused natural light.
Dining & Collaboration: The formal dining area doubles as a meeting space, with a custom walnut slat wall, ambient cove lighting, and an organic branch chandelier overhead. The space features a long solid-wood table surrounded by soft linen chairs, embodying refined hospitality.
Private Gallery & Reception: Guests are welcomed by a minimalist hallway grounded in natural materials—stone, walnut, and bronze—accented by curated art and tactile finishes. A Barcelona chair and bespoke console reinforce the blend of comfort and authority.
Dining & Collaboration: The formal dining area doubles as a meeting space, with a custom walnut slat wall, ambient cove lighting, and an organic branch chandelier overhead. The space features a long solid-wood table surrounded by soft linen chairs, embodying refined hospitality.
A cornerstone of the penthouse experience is its holistic lighting strategy, which enhances spatial depth and supports well-being across time. The concept is built around two principles: natural rhythm and artistic contrast. Natural light fills the penthouse by day, softened by a luminous ceiling grid. At night, sculptural fixtures create a warm, gallery-like atmosphere. Lighting is automated to shift tone throughout the day, supporting wellness and focus.
This penthouse project exemplifies how architecture can be a catalyst for commercial revitalization. Every detail was designed with intent—to elevate user experience, strengthen the building’s identity, and unlock long-term asset value. By blending residential comfort with executive functionality, we created a space that serves as a powerful draw for next-generation tenants, global investors, and high-end clientele seeking more than just a place to work.
